Sergio
Nespola was born in Rome Italy .
He
wanted to be a musician since he was a young teenager, transported by his love for music.
In
the beginning when he was a singer in a local neighborhood band , one day the drummer in that band couldn't
make it to practice so he sat down on the drum set and it just came natural for him to start playing a drum
beat, remembering from when little he was beating on empty laundry detergent carton containers,,, ",,,,that
was my first drum set,,, ".
After
spending years in the the basement listening to records trying to learn how to play the drums off of it,
his
self-thought style
landed him to play with VEDETTE Recording Artist band
PANNA FREDDA ,( Un Re senza reame )with Angelo Giardinelli, Carlo Bruno,
Damaso Grassi,Massimo Grandi. It was then that He started to getting around
the Piper Club and Piazza Navona in Rome and starting to get around with eccellent musicians and band members
like : New Trolls,Brian Auger,Quelle Strane Cose Che, R.R.R., Goblin, Balletto di Bronzo, Formula3, Rovescio della Medaglia,
Renato Zero, Banco del mutuo soccorso, Crisalide, TheFholks, Mia Martini, Nicola Distaso,
Wess Johnson, Gepy &Gepy,Tony Esposito,Cyan 3, Phoo, untill a few years later joined the World Tour
with the American band RCA Recording Artist THE FOUR KENTS .(Charlie
Cannon, Rudy Rollins,Stanley Evans) Later in time when the band
split up after the 1973 summer tour with Patty Pravo and some of the members were going back home to the U.S.A.
he decided to go along with some of them and enter the new adventure in his life by coming to U.S.A. ..."I 'm
going to get me a new drum set in U.S.A.".....
First stop was NEW YORK & NEW JERSEY, where he started to get his roots in the
English language, then moved to CHICAGO and joined a band , the DHARMA Recording Artist TREEBORN enjoying playing out his drums, live in-concerts .
He also started increasing his American musicality backgrounds by playing the drums in
the summer tour '78 for UNITED ARTISTS Recording Artist WALTER JACKSON . Sergio developed his own style of music and decided to form a Jazz Fusion Group called PROTEUS ,((Sergio Nespola-Grant Austin-Brian Zercher-Ole Riise-Bill Dickens-Jimmy
Allen))
described by the Media as a
"RETURN TO FOREVER" format
type of group that finally went on wax in 1980
PROTEUS / INFINITE CHANGE record was his first writing and
co-producing job done with excellence,an artistic creation,a trade mark to be remembered .
As the years went by the changes in the music industry in the horizon inspired Sergio to form
a Pop-R&B group called
PULSE REACTION and put in it on wax
7 DIGITS featuring NANETTE FRANK
on lead vocals , the album release was celebrated with an astonishing live performance at
THE PARK WEST in Chicago . After that it was time for Sergio to explore and corroborate the recording
skills qualities in engineering, writing and producing ,by opening his own O.O.T.W.
recording studio and by composing the CD entitled NEW ROOTS
a smooth jazz combination type of music with a taste of Europe .Then one day after coming back from a
visit to his own old country Italy, Sergio had the inspiration to write a set of original Italian songs and publish them on
the CD entitled SAREBBE TROPPO BELLO debuted at the River Forest
High School Theatre opening for LITTLE TONY , MINO REITANO
, MARIO MEROLA Concert in 2001,
and also he participated by opening the show to the Concerts performed with Italian Artist
GIGI DALESSIO at the GATEWAY Theatre in Chicago
in 2003.
